Public Service & Volunteering

Volunteering

Tilopa Kadampa Buddhist Centre is a registered charity maintained and run by you, the people who attend our courses and classes.

We always need help, both skilled and unskilled, to maintain and run our Centre. If you have a couple of hours to spare we can always put you to good use! If you have any particular skills you can offer, please contact us.  For opportunities to volunteer, please click to the right on 'volunteering' or contact us at 604.221.2271 or e-mail info@tilopa.org

Supporting the Centre & Becoming a Benefactor

You can help us establish a strong financial basis, essential for being able to continue with our work, by purchasing a Centre Card membership, or becoming a Benefactor. Application forms are available at the Centre.  As a benefactor, you can make a regular donation to Tilopa Buddhist Centre and receive a tax receipt in the spring of each year.

Public Service

  1. World Peace Cafe: Exemplifying the Buddhist faith through public service is central to the ethos of Kadampa Buddhism, and it is this philosophy that underlies the World Peace Café. Inspired by the vision of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, the café exists to promote peace throughout the world. All profits are used for building Kadampa Temples dedicated to world peace for the benefit of this and future generations.
  2. Teaching Methods for Inner Peace: Tilopa Buddhist Centre is a non-profit dedicated to World Peace by helping teach methods for inner peace.  Without inner peace, world peace is impossible.
  3. School Visits:  Tilopa Buddhist Centre welcomes requests from schools to visit our Centre.
